About Brant

I've had dogs growing up my entire life, but in February 2011, I rescued my first dog in my adult life from the local SPCA.  He is an 80 lb pitbull-lab mix I named Reginald or, affectionately, Reggie.

A few months later, I adopted Reggie's new boxer-mix brother, Manny.  I loved these guys very much, but I loved them in the wrong way and fostered an anxiety in them which would soon turn into aggression. They were so happy and loved playing with each other and with other dogs, but unaware of what I was doing, I created anxiety and severe aggression in them towards other dogs. This put many other dogs in the vet, and Reg and Manny were in the vet numerous times.

They were my family, though, and I had to help them. This became my focus for the next several years. Through the process, I became a professional trainer for a large company, traveled the country, learned from some of the best trainers in the business, and began The Trusted Companion.  Most recently, I completed my certification course with two-time World Champion Ivan Balabanov and am currently a certified Training Without Conflict trainer!

I have successfully rehabilitated my dogs. They are living out the rest of their years happy and confident. They no longer feel the need to attack each other or other dogs. I've since introduced a Samoyed into our pack, and not only does everyone get along fine, but they are relaxed and confident around the hundreds of new trainees that have come through my doors. I made it my goal to be good at rehabilitating anxiety and aggression in dogs because I had to help my dogs. Along the way, I learned how to help many others and to improve confidence in dogs by teaching them a new relationship with their owners, how to let go of the things that cause them so much worry, and how to engage and refine their primary sense of smell.  In my years as a trainer, I have trained hundreds of breeds and am confident I can help your dog relax and become more confident with you and with their environment!
